Lucy was my mom - a giving, special woman with a big heart.  During most of my teens, she was a single mom who worked hard in a factory to raise 4 children.  We lost her in 1995 to cancer.  This award (funded by 100% of the royalties from my books) is named in her honor and loving memory.  It consists of a guitar or bass given to a special organization or to a special musician wannabe.
